The Essence of Griha Pravesh
Griha Pravesh, or the housewarming ceremony, is a Vedic ritual performed before one enters a new home. It is a way of invoking divine grace, purifying the space, and aligning the energies of the home with cosmic harmony. There are three types of Griha Pravesh:
- Apoorva: For newly constructed homes.
- Sapoorva: For re-entry after a long absence.
- Dwandwah: For re-entry after renovations or calamities

According to Vastu, the northeast corner is the most sacred and should be kept clean and energized. The main entrance should face east or north for optimal energy flow. Avoid placing heavy furniture before the rituals are complete, and ensure the first night is spent in the new home to seal the blessings.
Auspicious Timing
The timing of Griha Pravesh is crucial. Avoid Amavasya, eclipses, and Chaturmas. Favorable months include Magha, Vaishakha, and Kartika. Days like Akshaya Tritiya, Dussehra, and Dhanteras are highly auspicious
